Key Reminder

If you take a course at UVA for which you already have test credit, your test credit will be removed. Likewise, if you have placed out of a course (without having received credit), you may not take that course for degree credit. You cannot earn credit for the same class twice.

AP Exams (College Board)

Consult the UVA AP Credit Award Policy to find out how your AP scores will provide credit or advanced standing at UVA.  

To request credit for AP Exams, send a copy of your score report from College Board to [email protected].

SAT II Exams

No credit is given for SAT II exams. However, these scores may be used to determine advanced standing for the First Writing Requirement and World Language classes. Consult the UVA SAT II Credit Award Policy to find out how your SAT II scores may help to determine advanced standing at UVA.

International Baccalaureate

Consult the UVA International Baccalaureate Credit Award Policy to find out how your IB scores will provide credit or advanced standing at UVA.

College Level Examination Program (CLEP)

Consult the UVA College Level Examination Program (CLEP) Credit Award Policy to find out how your scores might provide credit at UVA.  

To request credit for CLEP exams, send your score report to [email protected].

International College-Level Examination Credit

If you have taken other international examinations, learn more about whether you are entitled to UVA credit.
