Sarah Cole
Academic Titles and Associations
As a College Advising Dean, I enjoy working with students to help them chart their individual academic paths at UVa. I am here to provide advising about academic plans and College policies, and to assist students with navigating the opportunities and resources that the university offers. When students experience challenges that affect their academic work, I hope to provide support and connect them with other resources. I love getting to know students and hearing their unique stories, so that I can provide advice that is tailored to their interests and experiences. My own academic work is also centered on stories; drawing on my research experience in English and History, I enjoy teaching courses that explore the connections between literary narratives and social change. As the Advising Dean for Echols Scholars, I also serve as Assistant Director of the Echols Program, and I appreciate the chance to collaborate with the Echols Director and student leaders on Echols community events, including the Common Reading program.
