Academic Titles and Associations
As a College Advising Dean, I enjoy meeting with students to discuss course selection, outline four-year academic plans, plan for study abroad, and identify research, volunteer, and scholarship opportunities. I often make referrals to the Career Center to those students interested in health professions, law, graduate school, and internships. A liberal arts and sciences education helps students find meaning and purpose in their lives and the undergraduate years spent at UVA is a precious time of connection and networking. Through the practices of kindness and compassion, I encourage students to cultivate attention, self-awareness, and resilience. The courses that I currently teach and have taught at UVA include EGMT 1540: Mindful Decision-Making, COLA 1500: Mindfulness: Awareness and Habit, BIOL 1210: Human Biology and Disease, and INST 2500: IRC in Oxford and London.
