As an Advising Fellow, I am dedicated to building meaningful connections with students and guiding them through their unique academic journeys. My approach to advising is rooted in empathy and effective communication. I focus on understanding each student's strengths, challenges, and aspirations to offer personalized support that empowers them to achieve their goals. I look forward to helping students navigate their academic paths, providing guidance on course selection, major decisions, and extracurricular opportunities. In the Engagements program, I teach the course “Evil Tunes,” which examines the ethics of music, case studies of music being used for “evil,” and how to develop a personal ethical relationship with music. I strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment where students feel valued and encouraged to explore their interests and develop critical thinking skills. I earned my PhD in Music from the University of Virginia in 2023. My graduate studies have informed my advising approach by nurturing an interdisciplinary background and commitment to liberal arts education. I am excited to support students' development and contribute to their success at UVA!
