I aim to offer my advisees a welcoming and supportive space where they can think openly about their goals, follow their intellectual curiosity and confront challenging or unexpected situations with confidence. As an Advising Fellow, I work with students to reflect on where they’ve been, take stock of where they are and imagine where they might be headed, both academically and professionally. Getting to know my advisees individually, I strive to help them identify their passions and develop skills for success in college and beyond.

Trained as a historian of medieval Europe, I have focused in my research and teaching on making unfamiliar and complex worlds comprehensible and exciting. I have been fortunate to teach in a wide range of contexts, from first-year writing courses to graduate seminars, and I have advised numerous B.A. and M.A. theses. Whatever the academic setting, I endeavor to provide students with actionable advice, a sense of perspective and steady encouragement.
