Brianna Clark-Williams
Academic Titles and Associations

As a College Advising Dean, I support students as they navigate the academic, personal, and professional opportunities of their UVA journey. With a background in counseling and nearly 15 years in higher education, I bring a holistic, strengths-based approach to advising that centers care, equity, and connection.
As a former college athlete and military-connected student, I understand how one’s background and responsibilities influence the college experience. These identities fuel my dedication to equitable access, belonging, and culturally responsive advising.
Prior to UVA, I held roles across academic affairs, athletics, and student support, with a strong commitment to working with first-generation students, international students, student-athletes, and those navigating academic recovery. My practice-based scholarship focuses on workforce development, qualitative inquiry, and the intersections of identity, equity, and career mobility—particularly related to Black maternal health.
Outside of work, I enjoy time with my husband and two kiddos, engaging in the arts, and building community wherever I go.
