Academic Titles and Associations

As an Advising Dean, I am passionate about building meaningful relationships with students as they navigate their academic journeys. I take a developmental and holistic approach to advising, striving to create a space where students feel supported, encouraged, and heard. My goal is to help students make thoughtful academic decisions with confidence, even when their path feels uncertain.
Before joining the Advising Dean team at UVA, I spent 17 years at a private liberal arts college, serving as a mathematics professor, Advising Dean, and Co-Director of First-Year Experience. Outside of work, you will likely find me watching sports, walking outdoors, or catching up on cooking or home renovation shows. I love spending time with my family. One of my greatest joys is hanging out with my college-aged daughter at sporting events, thrift shopping, or just enjoying time together.
