College is a world of possibilities, especially at a big school like UVA. That can be exciting, but it can also be overwhelming. As an advisor and teacher, I’m here to provide students with the support to help them fearlessly take advantage of those possibilities and discover themselves. As a first-generation college graduate who was a Pell Grant student, I understand that the barriers to success at college may not be academic. I aim to have big conversations with students, connecting their experiences inside the classroom to those outside the classroom.

I bring to my advising and teaching a passion for interdisciplinary scholarship and creativity. I have studied or taught across numerous disciplines, including philosophy, literature, writing, theatre, media studies and gender studies. I am also a practicing artist who has worked in theatre, performance, creative writing and visual art. I use my multidisciplinary background to help students find connections across their academic journey.

Prior to coming to UVA, I worked at the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Wisconsin–Madison, New York University and Norwich University, where I was the Associate Professor of Theatre and Theatre Director.
