Final Exams Schedule
Final examinations are given in regularly scheduled courses during a designated period of time at the end of each semester. Exams in courses may be given only at the times listed on the UREG web site published each semester. Examinations in courses not fitting the regular class times are scheduled by the instructor to avoid conflicts as best as possible and allowing for individual arrangements.
Unexcused absence from a final examination results in an automatic grade of F in the course.
Rescheduling Final Exams
Faculty members are not authorized to change the announced times of their examinations. Such changes may be authorized only by the Dean’s Office, and then only for compelling reasons.
All students must have the opportunity to take the exam at the time listed on the UREG web site. Further, the Association Deans authorize requests, when endorsed by a faculty member, to reschedule a final examination to avoid congestion or other conflicts according to the rules of the College up to one week prior to the first day of the examination period.
Students are not permitted to take a final exam before its regularly scheduled time.
Postponing A Final Exam
When genuinely serious conditions exist, students, with the consent of the course instructor, may be allowed to postpone a final exam until later in the final exam period, or to take an Extension of Time (Incomplete) and take their exam after the final exam period.
Students who are granted an extension of time have 4 weeks from the end of final exams to complete the remaining course work.
To request an exam postponement or an extension of time, a student must submit, with the instructor's recommendation, a Request for Examination Postponement form or the Extension of Time form to the Office of the Dean in Monroe Hall.
For the current semester's deadlines for changing an exam, see the College academic calendar.
